Hey r/SideProject , Most modern personal finance applications follow the same pattern: sterile gray dashboards, mandatory account creation, background tracking SDKs, and recurring subscription paywalls just to log daily expenses. I wanted something tactile, structured, and strictly private, so I built Pawdit. --- ### What Makes Pawdit Different * 100% Free Core and Zero Ads: The core app is completely free to download and use. There are no full-screen video ads, banner placements, or paywalled core tracking features. * 100% Offline and Private: Zero cloud databases, zero login screens, and zero telemetry or analytics SDKs. Financial logs stay exclusively on local device storage. * Taxes the Auditor: Spending discipline is overseen by Taxes, a British Shorthair character who monitors transactions with deadpan behavioral feedback. * Cat Math Engine: Automatically translates currency amounts into equivalent hours of work and cans of tuna ($42 = 2h 48m of labor = 19 tuna cans). * The 10-Second Reality Check: Discretionary purchases trigger a mandatory cooling pause. Walking away saves 100% and awards Goldfish Treats; purchasing anyway deducts one of nine monthly lives. * Sanctuary Habitat: Treats earned through discipline are used to unlock furnishings for Taxes's room.
