Original Summary
been running strength + zwift/TP for about 2 years now and i've gone through basically every app. strong/hevy is great for lifting but has zero clue what my cardio looks like. trainingpeaks knows my z2 rides but treats "squat 100kg 5x5" like a note in a diary. intervals.icu is the closest thing to bringing it together, but the strength side is basically a text field. so i built the thing i wanted. the icu integration is the core piece. it pulls my activities + wellness numbers (hrv, sleep, rhr) from intervals.icu and combines them with a real strength tracker. so the readiness score actually knows if i smashed a threshold workout yesterday before recommending a heavy squat day. it also does load estimation for lifts (foster method + volume-based fallback for when rpe is missing) and pushes it back to icu, so tp/garmin/whatever sees a proper training load for the strength session, not a zero. planned sessions go to icu as calendar events too. cardio import pulls activities with the full hr time series and backfills muscle tags so my body heatmap reflects the endurance work too. other stuff it does: audio narrator that calls sets, rest timers, and the next lift so i don't touch the screen mid-set 300+ exercises with video demos, plus one-tap "add your own" when the library's missing something ai gym-torture-machine recognition — snap the mystery machine at your hotel gym, get told what it is and 3 exercises for it (this one is dumb but it's saved me twice while travelling) 10 hand-crafted hybrid templates (hyrox 6-week starter, runner off-season strength, cyclist winter base, tactical prep, etc) 3-question onboarding that builds you an actual 4-week plan instead of dropping you on an empty calendar body heatmap for muscle coverage per week, integrating both strength + cardio left/right tracking on unilateral lifts so imbalances actually show up pwa, installable on android/ios home screen, works offline the trust bits: byok for the ai side — you plug in your own anthropic key, so the ai features cost you what you actually use, not a subscription. same for the icu key obviously. no account required. all your data can live in the browser only. sign-in exists purely for optional cross-device sync — skip it and nothing about you leaves the device. link: https://wattsandsquats.com what i'm actually asking: if you're a hybrid athlete — what's the one workflow gap that still forces you back to a spreadsheet? for me it was "prescribe a bike workout that respects yesterday's strength fatigue." for a mate it was "auto-progress the deadlift when i'm in a big run block." curious what yours is. not selling anything, not collecting emails, just want the app to solve real problems. submitted by /u/HunterForward7418 [link] [comments]
