https://hyprmac.app/ So about a year ago I ditched Windows on my PC and started using Omarchy, which is a Linux distribution built around Hyprland. If you haven't used Hyprland, it's a window manager where your windows tile automatically and you do basically everything from the keyboard. I immediately loved it. I thought about hacking together a linux install on my MacBook, but that sounded like a pain, and I wanted to keep iMessage and all my dev tools. But then every time I opened my MacBook I'd reach for a Hypr key that wasn't there and immediately be back to always trying to find apps buried behind other apps. I wanted to take Hyprland and just plop it on my MacBook, but there just wasn't anything out there I liked. And since I basically live in Claude Code all day anyway, I figured why not just build it myself. So thanks to a little blood, sweat, and vibes, HyprMac was born! I've been daily driving it for about 6 months now, and while it's definitely still not perfect, it already saves me a ton of time. I'm super proud of how it's coming together, especially now that a slowly rising pool of developers have started contributing changes and ideas. The basics: - Caps Lock is your Hypr key by default (lots of alternatives) - windows tile automatically as you open them - Hypr + arrows moves between windows, Hypr + Shift + arrows swaps them - Hypr + 1-9 or 0 jumps between 10 workspaces - if you ever forget a keybind, Hypr + K pulls up the whole list Fair warning though, window managers on macOS are an uphill battle. Apple really doesn't want you messing with its windows, and nothing out there works perfectly, HyprMac included. But it's gotten to the point where it's very usable and I literally can't go back. I also tried not to just copy Hyprland. I wanted this app to be something anybody can use, not just those of us who spend all day talking to Claude instead of "hanging out with real friends." So I tried to really balance simplicity with extensibility. You can set up whatever keybinds you want, but the stock set is pretty simple, and I think anyone can get the basics down in a few minutes. The best part is your Caps Lock finally has a purpose! There's even an interactive demo on the website, so you can try it out before you install anything.
