Coding agents like Claude Code start every session from zero, and most memory tools just pile up notes. I built Assertion because I’d like my coding agents to have a memory that keeps what a colleague would: what we decided, what we ruled out and why, and which question comes next, while preserving key important details. So Assertion stores assertions: key claims, each with a line of evidence from the session or the source that produced it. It stores high-level strategies, questions and answers. It organizes such assertions in a way just like what a human would do: high level vs. lower level, questions vs. answers. It’s what I believe is missing in today’s agent or memory tool, a way to compound a repo’s, a team’s or a company’s knowledge. It runs as a plugin for Claude Code, Cursor and Codex, and captures automatically as you work. No commands, nothing to write down. Free to try; it needs a free account for the API key.
