Hey r/SideProject , I've been building GlowFind ( glowfind.de ) on the side, a price comparison for Korean skincare in Germany. Background: K-Beauty is pretty big here now, and the same Anua toner or Beauty of Joseon sunscreen is sold by dm and Rossmann, by EU shops like Notino and Flaconi, and by shops shipping from Korea or Hong Kong like YesStyle or Olive Young. Shipping costs and free shipping thresholds are all over the place, so the product price alone doesn't tell you much. GlowFind sorts everything by total price incl. shipping. Right now it's 77 products from 28 brands across 13 shops, prices update daily. Once I had the data I was surprised how big the differences are. For a single item the cheapest and most expensive offer are about 34% apart on average (median, roughly 9.60 €). For 43 of 67 products it's over 30%. Tech is pretty simple: Astro, static pages, a headless crawler for the prices. I'm switching to affiliate product feeds (CJ) with EAN matching right now, because matching the same product across shops by name is a pain. Money comes from affiliate links (planned). The ranking is purely by price though, otherwise the whole thing would be pointless. Next up: about 150 more products this week, unit prices per liter, and maybe price alerts. Feedback on the site is very welcome.
