Every group has this: someone says "I don't care, anywhere," three people veto in a row, and you end up at the same place you always go. I wanted the decision to be a five-minute thing that everyone actually participates in, so I built Food With Friends ([food-w-friends.com]( https://food-w-friends.com) ). It works in two halves. On your own, you swipe through restaurants near you and build a list — right for interested, up to love, left to pass, down to hate. Then when you're actually going out, you open a room, share a four-character code, and everyone swipes the same deck. The twist is that your list isn't just a bookmark folder: if you haven't voted on a place yet, the room uses what you've already said about it as a stand-in for your opinion. So a room with four people has a ranking from the moment it opens, and voting sharpens it rather than starting it from scratch. Someone joining ten minutes late still counts properly. There's also an "in the mood for" boost worth more than a love but less than two people's loves, because one person craving Thai shouldn't outrank the group but shouldn't be ignored either. Stack is .NET 8 + EF Core on the back, Vue 3 + Vite + Tailwind on the front, Postgres for data, the whole thing in Docker on a box in my house behind a Cloudflare Tunnel. Restaurant data is OpenStreetMap for discovery with Google Places filling in photos and hours. It's a PWA, so it can be installed to a home screen and work like an app rather than a bookmark if you want. It's free, there's no sign-in wall (you can start as a guest), and I'd genuinely like to know whether the room flow makes sense to others.
