Original Summary
Hi! I'm a solo dev. I spent some time reading what people complain about in budgeting apps: YNAB's price keeps going up, a lot of apps want your bank login, and Actual Budget is great but syncing means running your own server. So I built Arca: - Envelope budgeting (same method as YNAB) - Desktop app for Windows, Mac and Linux. Your budget is one file on your computer: no account, no bank connection, no telemetry - Import bank statements (CSV/OFX/QIF) or your YNAB export in one step - Real multi-currency, for people who earn in one currency and spend in another (freelancers, remote workers, expats) - A "simple mode" with 5 envelopes, for people who quit budgeting because of 20+ categories - One-time payment, 30-day free trial It works today, but I'd rather hear what's wrong now than after launch: Would you trust a new desktop app with your finances? What would make you trust it? Is "no bank sync" a feature or a dealbreaker for you? $39 one-time: fair, too much, too little?
