I've been working on an anonymous messaging app inspired by NGL, but I wanted to change a few things about the experience. The basic idea is still simple: You get a personal link Share it on Instagram/Snapchat/etc. People can send you anonymous messages You see them in your inbox But I also want to add private 1-to-1 conversations . For example, someone sends you an anonymous message, you both want to continue the conversation, and you can start a private chat without immediately revealing who you are. There would also be an optional identity reveal system instead of automatically exposing someone's identity, either person can request a reveal and the other person can accept or decline. I'm intentionally keeping it username-based rather than requiring Google/social login , because I think anonymous messaging should have as little friction as possible. Also I'm planning to make this app totally free. So no money on user side. Would you actually use something like this? And if you've used NGL or similar apps before: What do you like about them? What annoys you? What would make you switch to another app? Would private anonymous-to-private conversations actually be useful to you?
