Original Summary
keeptheduckalive.lol is a small experiment I launched this week: a duck pond that only survives if strangers pay for it. $1 buys 48 more hours and a spot on a public ranking. If nobody pays for 48 hours, the generation dies, the board resets, and it gets recorded in a memorial. It's inspired by outbid.lol, but with a clock. Launch week: Product Hunt launch on Monday Generation 1: one payment, $2 total. It needed $5 to hatch, never hatched, and died after about 52 hours. Generation 2 is an egg right now, at $0. My guess is one of three things: reach (almost nobody saw it), the premise (why would anyone pay for a duck?), or the first impression (an empty egg doesn't make anyone want to go first). If you had to bet on one, which would it be? I'll share what I change for Generation 2 based on the answers. submitted by /u/cFirePY [link] [comments]
