Hey everyone, My brother is a developer/woodworker who got incredibly frustrated by how clunky, bloated, and aggressively expensive traditional cabinet software has gotten (most packages hold your files hostage behind heavy subscriptions). He spent the last few months coding a fast, streamlined native desktop app for Windows 10/11 called WoodWright (woodwright.app). He’s the brains behind the code, and I’m handling the distribution to get it in front of real builders. Why he built it as a native desktop app: Offline-First: Most custom shops have terrible Wi-Fi. It runs fully offline with zero cloud lag. Local Storage & Open Format: Jobs save directly to your disk as .ww files (plain text JSON you can open in Notepad). You own your files forever. Production Ready: It generates live true-shape sheet nesting and outputs layered DXFs ready for CAM software or CNC routers. The desktop CAD is completely free—no subscriptions, no credit cards, no revenue caps.
