this is my MacBook. 1TB disk, and 288 GB of it is "System Data" Apple never says what that is. Deleting photos did nothing. Emptying the trash did nothing. Restarting did nothing. Every few months since 2011 my disk fills up again, and I end up copying terminal commands from old forum threads I don't really understand. a few days ago I got angry enough to build my own tool. With Claude Code! It opens the grey block and shows what's actually inside, in plain words. On my Mac: App caches: 96 GB Time Machine snapshots: 62 GB Old iPhone and iPad backups: 38 GB Trash: 21.4 GB Mail downloads: 18.4 GB If you have enough time u can find all of these files using Claude Code! It will take u some time but it can help. If you do not want spend your time on it u can use my tool.
