Solo dev. I spent the summer building Bisi² (bisibisi.app), an AI assistant that runs on the phone itself and answers from books stored on the device. No account, and nothing you type leaves the phone. What it does: Runs Gemma 4 on-device. On Android it needs 6 GB+ of RAM; on iPhone I've tested down to 4 GB. The model download is a few GB, do it on wifi. Older phones won't run it. I'd rather tell you here than in a refund request. Answers from an offline library and lists the books it used right under the answer. Packs: a curated survival library (283 articles, 90+ illustrations, checked against current EPA/CDC/FEMA guidance, paid), offline Wikipedia, 12 free OpenStax textbooks.
