Original Summary
Last year my constraint was implementation. This year it isn’t. I can take an idea to a usable MVP before dinner. I used that to ship a few things. Traffic was roughly zero. Not “needs SEO.” Zero as in I could not name ten people who wanted the job done. After the third quiet launch I stopped blaming distribution for a minute. Distribution matters, but I had skipped a cheaper test: Before I add features, can I find recent public conversations where someone describes the problem in their own words? If I can’t, I don’t have a launch problem. I have an “I built a product for a sentence nobody is typing” problem. I got tired of doing that search by hand every time I got excited, so I turned it into a system for myself. Working name is OPBO. Input is the product. Output is not a market-size paragraph. It’s “here are people who already said this” or “this doesn’t show up where you’re looking.” I still do the talking. I just don’t want to spend another two weeks in the editor because the empty launch felt like I hadn’t built enough. Anyone else notice that shipping speed made validation more urgent, not less? submitted by /u/OwnPractice8165 [link] [comments]
