Original Summary
I'm the founder of SASTY. This started from watching my wife shop for ethnic wear online here in Sydney. She would have a different tab open for every country and every brand. There was no way to know how something would actually look on her, since there's no store nearby to try it on. It's a common problem across the South Asian diaspora around the globe. It struck me that given how much clothing taste overlaps across India, Pakistan and Bangladesh, there was no single place that brought their fashion brands together, and SASTY was born. I use an AI pipeline that gets the product data. There is a virtual try-on (VTO) feature to remove the imagination gap before placing the order online. SASTY's VTO works across all 90+ brands currently on the platform. More than 40 million of the South Asian diaspora live outside South Asia. Many like to wear traditional clothing on various occasions even when the event is happening thousands of miles from home, one way many stay connected to their birth country. Only very few traditional clothing brands have showrooms in countries like the US and UK, and it is not that easy for shoppers in this niche to physically go there and try the outfit to see how it looks on them. I believe this feature, along with having the popular ethnic fashion brands on one platform, will improve their online shopping experience. The video attached to this post is a recording of the VTO demo. I am looking for honest feedback on our virtual try-on. Does it look gimmicky? If you'd like to try it, here's SASTY ( https://sasty.online ). submitted by /u/mirubuet [link] [comments]
