I'm the developer of ArtSprig, an iPhone app for scanning and organizing children's artwork. The idea came from the drawings and paintings that come home from school: a whole term's work arrives together, with more pieces coming home in between. I wanted to preserve that record of growing up without turning it into another pile of photos to search through. The tricky part was treating the pictures as artwork rather than documents. A faint yellow crayon mark matters. The scanning flow is designed to reduce uneven lighting and correct perspective while retaining the drawing's colors and texture. It isn't perfect, especially with white paper on a white background, and I'm still improving those cases. The current app lets you scan, add a title and notes, browse saved artwork, and share keepsake cards. Artwork is stored locally on the iPhone; there is no account or cloud upload.
