Original Summary

The problem I kept hitting: my weight would jump a kilo overnight from salt or water, and every app I tried either showed that jump like it meant something or tried to fix my mood with streaks and badges. So I built TrendCut, an iPhone app that runs a Kalman filter over your weigh-ins and shows the underlying trend. A few things it does differently: - The trend is the headline, not today's number. Spikes are damped, never deleted, and history is never rewritten. - For the first 7 days it tells you it's too early instead of drawing a confident line from 3 data points. - No streaks, no badges, no red warnings for a normal fluctuation. It only changes tone when a move away from your goal is actually confirmed. - Syncs with Apple Health, has a Home Screen widget, and keeps your data on the phone (cloud sync is optional). Stage: just released on the App Store, solo developer, first app. Built with Expo / React Native, SQLite on device, Skia for the chart. Free to use; the trend itself is never paywalled. Premium adds the confidence level, projections and AI-written summaries. What I'd love feedback on: Does "trend instead of the daily number" make sense within a few seconds of opening it, or does it need explaining? If you've used Happy Scale, MacroFactor or a spreadsheet for this, what would make you switch, or not? https://apps.apple.com/app/id6769755445 submitted by /u/UnderPirate [link] [comments]
