Recently on Apps I've shipped, I ran into the same thing: I put my App Store link in a TikTok bio, and it just doesn't work. TikTok and Instagram's in-app browsers block or mangle App Store/Play Store links outright, so visitors tap the link and land nowhere — on TikTok it’s just “Action can’t be completed”, no explanation, they just bounce. So I built pleaseopen.me — a single smart link that: • Detects when someone's stuck in TikTok/Instagram's in-app browser and guides them into their real browser so the App Store link actually opens • Sends iOS visitors to the App Store, Android visitors to Play Store, and everyone else to a fallback URL — one link, right destination per device • Tracks clicks with basic analytics (device breakdown, locations, which links get used, etc.), so instead of guessing why your install numbers don't match your view counts, you can actually see where people are dropping off It also does privacy policy + ads.txt hosting (if anyone remembers my last post) — no separate site/domain needed, just answer a few questions about your app and it's hosted for you. You can connect a custom domain too if you've got one. Most features are free, no monthly subscription or expensive annual fee required :) Full disclosure: my own project.
