Original Summary
A few months ago I launched my first app. It sounded great in my head but I stopped using it after 3 days So I made myself one rule: don’t look for an idea, look for a problem I personally hate. Literally the next day, I overslept for work I was still on probation, so being late was definitely not ideal. I woke up, looked at the time and thought: oh. there’s the problem That evening I built a bad looking MVP of an alarm app that forces you to prove you’re awake You can solve a math problem, do push-ups or squats, or find and photograph a specific object. If you don’t complete the challenge, the alarm comes back I started using it myself in July and, unlike my previous app, I actually kept using it So over the next month I rebuilt it properly after work, redesigned it in Figma, added app blocking at night, and eventually turned it into Curfew One feature I unexpectedly ended up using a lot is app blocking at night. I lock the apps that usually keep me scrolling before bed, and it’s honestly made falling asleep way easier. I also don’t wake up in the middle of the night because of random messages anymore It finally went live on the App Store this week Funny enough, the whole thing exists because I overslept for work once I attached a demo. Would love to know: What would make you download this, and what would make you delete it after 3 days? submitted by /u/syncyourvibe [link] [comments]
