I’m exploring an idea and want to talk to people who actually design PCBs. The idea is a tool that checks a PCB + BOM before it goes to manufacturing and catches things like DFM violations, footprint/assembly problems, component availability issues, and other problems that could cause rework or manufacturing delays. I’m not building it yet—I’m trying to understand whether this is actually a painful problem. For people who design hardware: - What checks do you currently perform before sending a board to manufacturing? - What manufacturing mistakes have you encountered that you wish you'd caught earlier? - How much time/money did those mistakes cost? - Would an automated pre-manufacturing check actually be useful in your workflow?
