I’m a tattoo artist, not a software developer, and this started because I was tired of losing people. A client would DM me on Instagram. Someone else would text me. Someone would book and end up on my calendar. Another person would tell me “I’ll hit you up next month.” And then life happens. Six months later I’d find a conversation and realize… shit. I was supposed to follow up with them. So I started building My Little Black Tat Book . The simplest way I can explain it is: your phone book remembers the number. I want this to remember the relationship. Who is this person? What were we talking about? Do I owe them a response? Did they need to reschedule? Were we waiting on a deposit? When should I talk to them again? I’m building things like contact organization, follow-ups, calendar integration, portfolios, client history and tools specifically for tattoo artists. Eventually I realized this probably isn’t only a tattoo-industry problem. Hairstylists, photographers, freelancers and anyone whose business lives inside a thousand scattered conversations probably deal with the same thing. I’m still early and I’d rather have people tell me what sucks now than build the wrong thing for six months. If you ran your business out of something like this, what would it absolutely need to do before you trusted it with your clients?
