No subscriptions, no credits that expire. New accounts start with enough credit to try out three images for free. The free versions have a watermark so you can see what you’re getting before you spend any money. There are two things I’ve done differently because they annoyed me everywhere else: A failed generation won’t cost you anything. The amount is reserved when you place your order and isn’t actually charged until the finished file is ready. That sounds like a simple policy, but in the code, it actually involves implementing four different error handling paths. Everything runs on machines that I own and operate myself, in Germany. Not because it’s cheaper—which it isn’t—but because the hardware was already up and running, and I wanted to put it to better use than letting it sit idle for a few internal tasks. I only use models that I’m allowed to use commercially. My goal isn’t just to provide a model, but to build the infrastructure around it: the guidelines, the workflows, the reliability. I’ve already used initial feedback loops (including from a test user who was able to try out the app in advance) to optimize the tool, but I want to drive development forward together with the people who actually use it. Not what I think is necessary, but what the community tells me is missing—including things that the big platforms don’t do because they prioritize scale over transparency toward individual users.
