Original Summary

I'm building a medication management tool for families. The core bet is that reminders should live where people already spend their time (WhatsApp/Telegram) instead of yet another app that gets downloaded and abandoned. Two problems I keep running into: reminders are easy to ignore, and caregivers, like adult kids managing a parent's medicines, have no idea whether a dose was actually taken. My current approach is one-tap Taken / Missed / Snoozed replies in chat, a family view for caregivers, adherence history with a simple weekly summary, and reminders that adapt to the user's routine. I've spent a lot of time building and I'm worried I'm overbuilding before validating that people want this. For anyone who's built consumer or health-adjacent apps: Does chat-based notification improve retention over push, or do WhatsApp Business API costs and template restrictions become a problem at scale? How did you get users to trust a new app with sensitive health data early on? If you had to cut this down to the smallest version worth launching, what would you keep? Honest criticism is welcome. I'd rather find the problems now than after months of polishing. I dropped symptom check-ins too, since you only confirmed the conflict alerts aren't there. If check-ins are built and you want them in, add a short mention to the "current approach" paragraph. I also left out the link, as before. If people ask to see it, share it in a comment. submitted by /u/Traditional-Lab332 [link] [comments]
