Hey r/SideProject , I wanted to share a tool I recently launched called Going A2B . [ 1 ] If you use your own vehicle for work in the UK, you know how painful tracking business mileage can be. Most of the massive apps on the market require continuous background GPS tracking. Not only does that completely kill your phone's battery by midday, but it also feels incredibly invasive to have an app tracking your location 24/7. I wanted something simpler and privacy-focused, so I built Going A2B around photographic odometer readings . [ 1 ] How it works: Take a quick photo of your odometer at the start of your work journey. Drive. (The app doesn't follow your GPS in the background while you drive). Take another photo at the end. [ 1 ] The app logs the mileage automatically alongside the location and timestamps, giving you a totally HMRC-compliant record without the battery drain. [ 1 , 2 ] It’s built natively for the UK market (£1.49/month or £14.99/year after a 14-day free trial).
