A few weeks ago I was looking for a better way to manage all the random things I save while working. Someone recommended Raycast . I tried it and immediately had that annoying thought: “How did I not know about this earlier?” It's one of those products where you use it for 10 minutes and wonder how it isn't already part of everyone's workflow. And that got me thinking about something I've noticed while building. There are two completely different problems when you're making a product: 1. Building something people want. 2. Getting those people to actually find it. The first one gets talked about constantly. MVPs. Landing pages. Pricing. Retention. Tech stack. SEO. But the second one is brutal. I've seen indie makers spend months building genuinely useful products, launch them, post once on X... ...and get 14 likes. Then the internet moves on. Meanwhile, products with much worse ideas can get thousands of eyeballs simply because they found distribution. That's when I started thinking: What if discovering products worked more like discovering people? Instead of waiting for an algorithm to randomly put a product in front of you, what if there was a place specifically for finding things that are newly built ? That's basically why I started building FreshlyBuilt . It's a launch/discovery platform for indie products. But I'm trying to make it more than another directory. The goal is to create a place where you can actually browse what people are building right now . You're bored of your current tools? → Discover something new. You're an indie maker? → Put your product in front of people who actually like discovering new products. You're just curious about what people are building? → Browse around and fall down the rabbit hole. And honestly, building this has taught me something I wish I'd understood earlier: A good product doesn't automatically deserve attention. You still have to create a path for people to discover it. That's the problem I'm trying to solve with FreshlyBuilt . I'm currently onboarding the first 100 makers, so if you're building something small, weird, useful, or completely unnecessary but fun...
