Original Summary
Most of my freelance jobs follow the same three steps: Write a short scope Get a signature Collect a deposit For years, my process was basically: Doc > signature > separate payment link > WhatsApp follow-up The annoying part isn't really any individual step. It's having them spread across different tools. I've looked at some of the bigger freelancer/client-management platforms, but they often come with a lot more than I need: CRM, calendars, client portals, packages, automation, etc. For a small one-off job, I don't necessarily need a complete business-management system. What I'd ideally want is something where: I create the scope and line items Add the deposit amount Send the client one link They open it on their phone Sign without creating an account Pay using whatever payment method I already use I can see whether they've signed and whether I've received the payment Especially for clients in India, having UPI/QR support alongside existing payment links would be useful. The important part for me would be keeping the money flow between the client and freelancer , rather than introducing another platform into the payment chain. I've been experimenting with a very small workflow around this idea rather than building a full CRM, but I'm deliberately keeping it separate from the usual "everything for freelancers" approach. I'm curious about the workflow itself, though: how are you currently handling the Doc > signature > deposit process for small freelance projects? submitted by /u/letsrediit [link] [comments]
