Hey everyone, I've been working solo on Drompl for the last 9 months -- a browser-based mockup tool for books, KDP covers, magazines, reports, and presentations. I've been an editorial designer for 20+ years, and mockups have always annoyed me: most of them are made for A4, US Letter, and square sizes. If a client had some unusual size, presenting the project became a pain. If I needed a lot of mockups, sometimes I just gave up on the idea. A few years ago I started learning Blender and realized most of this could be automated. So I built the tool I wanted for myself (I initially wanted it to be kind of a "Blender server", but shifted to a more simplified approach). You drop in a cover and a few seconds later you have a mockup. There are around 30 book formats now, including KDP sizes. If your exact size isn't there, the tool automatically picks the closest one by aspect ratio. I also wanted the result to look like a real render, with proper lighting, gloss, reflections, and shadows. So it includes: Auto spine color (if you don't have a custom spine ready) Texture wrapping 3 shadow types Matte and Glossy finish Transparent backgrounds with alpha shadows Asset storage and saving your variants for future reuse It's now in open beta, and I really need people other than me to test it properly.
