Original Summary
I'd been putting off making a product video for weeks. Yesterday I generated one with Claude Code instead, and it's close enough that I'm going to use it after another pass. What it is: an animated explainer. No voiceover, no actors, no stock footage. It's all rendered rather than filmed, which means it's reproducible - I can change one part and regenerate, instead of rerolling a prompt and hoping the next one lands. The setup: /video-use — an open source Claude Code video pipeline: https://github.com/browser-use/video-use . Transcribe → pack → the model reasons over it → EDL → render → self-eval. Animation overlays come from HyperFrames. I didn't write the script. Claude did, and I optimised it - mostly cutting. The structure it came back with was solid, the wording needed a pass. I'm not sitting in an editor animating anything. The skill defines how the video gets generated, and rendering happens outside my machine. Cost: $33.80 in credits, Opus 5, on my existing subscription. Two versions. The first was too fast, had too many effects, and the sound design was genuinely unpleasant to sit through. I said exactly that, and the second pass is what I uploaded. That round trip was one message. It still needs work, and I'm not going to pretend otherwise. But the distance between this and something I'd put on my homepage is a revision, not a budget. I'm simply amazed and want to let you guys know about it. submitted by /u/isabasu [link] [comments]
