Original Summary

I’ve been building Recolume as a side project. The idea is pretty simple: recommendations should take into account both what you tend to like and what kind of experience you want right now. You can rate games and films you already know and, if you want, say why they worked or didn’t work for you. Recolume gradually builds a taste profile from recurring signals like atmosphere, mystery, pacing, worldbuilding, tension, humour, exploration, etc. Then, when you’re looking for something new, it also asks about the moment: how much time you have, the kind of experience you want, intensity, pacing, attention, and so on. The recommendation uses both. Games and Movies have different recommendation flows, but they contribute to the same evolving profile, so Recolume can also start noticing when the same preference appears across different media. There’s also a central Your Recolume page that brings everything together and shows what your taste profile is starting to learn from both Games and Movies. Right now there are around 100 manually tagged games and 30 films. No account is required and the profile stays on your device. I’ve tested it a lot myself, so I’d really like feedback from people seeing it for the first time. https://recolume.com submitted by /u/Recolume [link] [comments]
