Original Summary

Around 2 months, I made made this post to share Untourist with you all! I'm back after some heads down time on the app, content, and website to give a littler update! Most of the work lately has been less about adding new features and more about getting the whole thing to feel like one coherent product before launch. A big part of that has been polishing the app itself. We’ve been tightening up the UI/UX and trying to make the actual walking experience feel smoother once you’re out on the street, especially: simplifying some of the flows improving the active walk screen showing less information at once making it easier to keep moving without constantly checking your phone We also finally went back and rebuilt the website. The old version was fine for explaining what the app did, but it felt pretty generic and didn’t really match the stories themselves. So we spent some time figuring out the visual and editorial direction for the brand, then redesigned the site around that. The goal was to make it feel more like a New York field guide and less like a software landing page. Story (we're calling tours stories now) progress right now: 2 stories live in TestFlight 6 finished and ready for launch 2 more in production that we’re trying to finish in time If you’re in NYC, or you’ll be here (or know someone who will!) sometime this month, I’d still really appreciate people trying one story in TestFlight. The most useful feedback at this point is how the whole thing feels in the real world, especially anything confusing, awkward, boring, or that gets in the way of the walk. If that sounds interesting, I’d love for you to give it a try. Website / TestFlight: https://getuntouristapp.com It's 100% free, but slots are limited! :) And if you think it’s terrible, please tell me too. I’d much rather hear it now than after launch. submitted by /u/Possible-Alfalfa-893 [link] [comments]
