Original Summary
I built LibFree: https://libfree.net/ Problem I wanted to solve: free public-domain classics are mostly on Project Gutenberg, but browsing/reading there still feels clunky, find a book, download a file, open another app. What it is: - ~75k public-domain books - read in the browser (no app) - covers + short text previews - browse by author / subject / bookshelf - EPUB download for offline / Kindle / Kobo Stack-ish: Next.js frontend, Nest API, Postgres, catalog sync from Gutendex + cover/EPUB pipelines. Not trying to replace Gutenberg, more of a nicer reading/browsing layer on the same legal PD corpus. Would love feedback from builders especially on: - first-run UX / discovery - reader experience on mobile - what you’d ship next if this were your side project submitted by /u/ConsiderationHot8106 [link] [comments]
