X gives me two bad options: the full firehose or someone else's ranking. I wanted a personal layer I could inspect and undo, so I built Your Signal. It takes eligible text from posts already visible in the timeline and sends batched, typed questions to TypeSafe's Jev. Jev returns signals for relevance, substance, practical value, promotion, and engagement bait. The extension combines those signals locally with your own weights and thresholds. Posts can be highlighted, labelled, dimmed, collapsed, or hidden, and every presentation change is reversible. I considered using a generative LLM, but Jev's fast structured decisions fit this job much better than generated prose. The extension is BYOK and MIT-licensed, has no telemetry or intermediary backend, and the README is explicit that inference is remote while preferences and filtering rules stay in the browser.
