I've been building a tool for editing interior and exterior photos with AI. Early on I assumed image quality would be the main challenge. It wasn't. The real problem was control. Most AI editors let you prompt the whole image, and you get changes you didn't ask for all over the photo. For interiors and architecture that's a dealbreaker, because people want to change one wall, one window, or one piece of furniture and leave everything else alone. So I built it around drawing: you sketch directly on the image to mark the area and shape you want changed, add a prompt, and the edit follows the drawing. A few things I learned along the way: - Users trust a tool far more when they can point at what they mean instead of describing it - Before building, I tested the newer platforms offering similar features, and none handled region-specific edits reliably enough for real design work - I launched paid-only first, which filtered for serious users but slowed growth.
