Original Summary
I posted FlatStock here in August, when it was a web app and an iPhone app and I said Android was coming. Android went live on Google Play this morning, so that is the update: all three, one codebase, one price. The problem it exists against: inventory apps that start cheap and then charge by item count or per person. Add item 501, or a second person on the crew, and the bill moves. That is not a pricing accident, it is the business model. FlatStock is one plan. $24.99 a month or $199 a year, 10,000 items, one shared login on as many phones and computers as your team has. No seats, no item tier. Three things I spent the real time on: - The importer. It reads a bulk export out of the tool you are leaving, photos and all, and shows you a dry run of exactly what will be created before a single row is written. Migration is the reason people stay somewhere they have stopped liking. - Offline that means offline. The phone writes to its own SQLite database and syncs later. Nothing waits on the network, so a stock count in a basement or a van behaves the same as one in the office. - Leaving stays easy. Stop paying and the account goes read-only with full CSV export still working. Your data is not the hostage. 14 days free, a card starts it, nothing is charged until day 15. Android is United States only on Play for the moment. Screenshots of all three are on the site, so you can see what it looks like before signing up for anything. https://flatstock.app/?ref=reddit-sideproject The question I would most like answered by anyone who has run inventory for a small team: what actually made you switch tools, or what stopped you? submitted by /u/Glittering-Ad-3957 [link] [comments]
