Original Summary

Hi everyone, A while back I shared Plate, a small iOS app for people whose saved folders are full of cooking videos they never get around to cooking. You paste a link from TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, X or Pinterest, or take a photo of a dish or a cookbook page, and it writes the recipe out with quantities, steps, timings and nutrition per serving. Version 1.0.1 is out, and most of it is about getting to your recipes without opening the app and digging around: Siri: ask what you can cook with what you have, search your cookbook, or open a recipe while your hands are busy. Spotlight iOS27: your saved recipes now show up when you search from the Home Screen. Cooking tips: on iPhones that support Apple Intelligence, Plate points out what to watch for and which ingredients you could skip or add. It runs on the phone, so your recipe never leaves it, and it works offline. Search on Home and Pantry, the same way it already worked in your Cookbook. A new icon and a redesigned sign-in screen. I'd really like to hear from people who actually cook from saved videos. Would you use Siri for this in the kitchen, or does it feel like a gimmick? Are the tips useful or just noise? And what's still missing that would make you keep the app? Any feedback is genuinely appreciated. Thanks a lot. Apple Store Link submitted by /u/Buraktuncdevv [link] [comments]
