Original Summary
I make travel-language apps (Japanese and Mandarin before this one). I went to Korea with my wife last May and completely fell in love with the country. So Dalmaji isn't a course. It's a companion app for the trip, to get you a little more immersed in the language and the culture while you're there. Saying it : 340 phrases in 13 situations (restaurant, taxi, transport, shopping, emergencies…), each with Hangul, official romanization, an easy reading and clear audio. A "Show it" mode puts the phrase in big type for the person in front of you. Reading it : Hangul in 30 minutes. 40 letters with audio, a syllable table, and a 6-lesson crash course that ends with 12 real street signs. Ordering it : a Menu Decoder with 60 dishes, with spice level and pork/seafood/veggie flags. Paying : a won converter with 23 currencies that works offline. iPhone only for now, 12 languages, no account, no ads. Free tier plus a one-time Pro unlock, no subscription. Things I'd love feedback on: is the free tier too generous or not enough? And for anyone who's been to Korea, do you feel something is missing? https://apps.apple.com/app/apple-store/id6807027499?pt=126816596&ct=reddit&mt=8 submitted by /u/Quantum_Quacks [link] [comments]
