Original Summary
Hey guys, I’ve been having some discomfort in my heels when running, especially after the 1–2 mile mark. I’m not sure if it’s my form, how I’m landing, or whether I’m putting more load on one foot than the other. Most wearables track things like pace, heart rate, and cadence, but nothing really tells me what’s happening at my feet. So I’ve been thinking about building a wearable that tracks foot pressure throughout a run . The idea is a thin pressure-sensing layer in a sock/shoe with a small pod on the calf that sends data to your phone. It could show: Left vs. right load Heel vs. forefoot pressure Pressure distribution across the foot Impact and contact time How loading changes throughout a run Differences between shoes I’m mainly interested in measuring how people actually load their feet and how that changes over time, not making medical or injury claims. Would you find this useful? What would you actually want to see after a run? I’d much rather know which metrics runners care about than build another dashboard full of numbers. submitted by /u/InfamousAd9163 [link] [comments]
