Vitalik Proposes Recursive STARK Mempools for Ethereum’s Future I-Star Upgrade Vitalik Buterin has proposed EIP-8288, a recursive STARK mempool design that he hopes will be included in Ethereum’s I-Star upgrade, following Hegota. The proposal aggregates transaction dependencies in the mempool and generates recursive STARK proofs. It aims to reduce the cost of quantum-safe signatures and privacy transactions, support new signature or proof schemes such as Falcon and ML-DSA without requiring EVM changes, and enable private account abstraction.
