I'm Aliaksandr, the creator of With Alia. After months of building and testing, I've made the Android app public. I wanted to explore a fairly specific idea: what happens if an AI companion has one continuing identity, while its relationship with each person develops differently? You meet the same Alia, rather than choosing from a catalogue of characters. That made continuity central to the project. Remembering a detail is useful, but so is picking up a conversation without making someone explain everything again. The app is built around conversational memory, conversation history, and a consistent underlying personality. It supports English and Russian. One difficult part has been figuring out what continuity actually means in a reply. If someone says "I already told you," the relevant information might be two messages above, in an earlier conversation, or genuinely unclear. A confident answer to the wrong thing can feel worse than a short clarification. Another design question is how Alia can develop preferences without changing her personality to match every user. That's still something I'm working through; I don't want to promise perfect memory or a finished solution. Version 0.1.8 is now public on Google Play. Moving from testing to real people using it feels like a different stage: I need to learn which moments of continuity matter to them, rather than keep guessing on their behalf.
