I built an open-source tool for something I kept seeing behind a monthly subscription: Instagram comment → DM automation. The idea is simple. Someone comments LINK on your post or reel, and they automatically get a DM with the link. I called it OpenInstaDM. It uses Meta's official Instagram API, so there’s no scraping, browser automation, or Instagram password involved. It currently supports keyword based campaigns, automatic private DMs, optional public replies, tracked links with click/CTR stats, username personalization, follow-gated links, multiple Instagram accounts, workspaces, an inbox, rate limiting, retries, and delivery logs. The stack is Next.js, React, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, Prisma, Redis/BullMQ and the Meta API.
