Original Summary
Full disclosure: I work on marketing at Omnibound, we make AI search visibility software, so this is directly in my wheelhouse. A few months back we noticed something weird, we were losing shortlist spots to competitors that objectively ranked worse than us on Google. Took a while to figure out why. Turned out ChatGPT and Perplexity just couldn't read a chunk of our own pages. Not a content problem, a technical one, some of it came down to how the pages rendered (a lot of AI crawlers don't run JS the way Googlebot does), some was missing structured data, one page had an old robots.txt line blocking a crawler we didn't even know existed until we went looking. None of this shows up in a normal SEO audit, Google could see everything fine. It's a completely separate blind spot. We ended up turning the fix-it checklist into a free tool, AI search visibility checker , no signup, if anyone wants to run their own site through it. Mostly curious if this is something other SaaS teams have run into, or if we were just unusually late catching it. https://preview.redd.it/tsle984p7wph1.png?width=1140&format=png&auto=webp&s=dc0f918bd39b793d957056aa38aad8142d2c4b46 submitted by /u/Alive_Efficiency2765 [link] [comments]
