Hey r/SideProject ! I built Wikijaunt ( https://wikijaunt.com ), a site that turns random Wikipedia articles into AI podcasts worth listening to. I built it because I often fall into Wikipedia rabbit holes and wanted something to listen to during walks with my newborn daughter -- plus I wanted an excuse to tinker with AI and Stripe (disclaimer: I work at Stripe). The outputs have been surprisingly good. Yesterday's episode on the humble Paper Clip [0] and today's on J.D. Vance's Hillbilly Elegy [1] don't just recite facts, they also dig up the weird, dinner-party-worthy narrative around the topic. Under the hood: Wikipedia API → filters pick N candidate articles → LLM writes a conversational one- or two-host script → an AI judge picks the winner → synthetic voices and AI cover art, stitched into an episode. There's also a Studio feature where you pick a specific article or choose from candidates (1 free credit on signup). Hit random a few times and tell me the most interesting article you get.
