Original Summary
I built an app that automatically puts endless-scroll apps and apps you use for more than 30 minutes a day behind a daily limit of 6 unlock tokens. https://reddit.com/link/1whyz6c/video/tnus49j08wph1/player Different profiles would have different costs. For example: Work: Instagram costs 3 tokens. Relax: Instagram costs 1 token. Work apps can be added as exceptions, but each app can only belong to one profile. The idea is to make opening distracting apps more intentional without banning them completely. It worked for me but that could also be because it's my own app and it's novel. Another reason why this might've worked for me is because it makes me compete with myself weekly to see if I can save more time this week that I did last week. Would this interest you, or would you just spend all 6 tokens immediately? What feature or loophole would make or break it? The video I attached has no weekly score yet because before recording I did a quick reinstall with some slight changes to the UI and it removed my progress. submitted by /u/Acceptable_Proof6250 [link] [comments]
