Original Summary

Something that's been more useful to me than most SEO tools lately. Google "best [your category]" and "[biggest competitor] alternative" in an incognito window, and look for the reddit.com result. Last week I tried 39 searches like "best crm for small business", "notion alternative" and "best invoicing software". Every single one had a Reddit thread on page 1. In 29 of them it was in the top 3. Those threads get read by everyone who runs that search, long after the thread itself goes quiet. So a few things are worth doing: Make a list. 10 to 20 searches your buyers would actually type. Note which Reddit thread ranks for each. Read the top answers. A lot of them recommend tools that are dead, much pricier now, or wrong for small teams. That's your opening. Add the answer you wish was there. Be specific about who each option is for. If your own product is one of them, say you built it and don't put it first. Check back once a month. People keep replying to old threads, and new questions show up in the comments. Also worth searching site:reddit.com "your competitor" to see how people actually talk about them. The complaints are usually more useful than any feature comparison page. submitted by /u/notomarsol [link] [comments]
