So, one day while working I got curious about how many AI tokens I was actually wasting, especially since I kept running into usage limits. I couldn't really find a simple way to see where I was overspending and what habits I could change , so I built a little tool called optimaizr . It analyzes your AI usage, finds potential sources of wasted tokens/money, and recommends what you could change, things like over-specified models, unnecessary context, redundant calls, heavy reasoning on simple tasks, etc. For example, on my own usage it found $16.08/month in potential savings , which would be almost $196/year .
