Hey r/SideProject solo builder here. I got tired of “creative” apps that are actually infinite feeds. So I built the opposite. Spark is a daily micro-creativity app. Every UTC day, everyone on Earth gets the same constraint: Text: one sentence, 12 words max Visual: one photo, from where you are, camera only Audio: 10 seconds, no speech (rhythm, rooms, ice, paper…) Then you open the gallery and see how everyone else interpreted the exact same prompt. The tagline is: One constraint, one spark, every day. The loop The constraint drops You make it in about a minute You see the gallery You keep a streak if you show up tomorrow The week rotates on purpose: 3 text days, 2 visual, 2 audio. So you’re not taking a photo every day, and audio doesn’t become a gimmick you skip. Weird bets I committed to Photos are camera-only. No camera roll. People asked to “share their best summer photo.” That’s a different product. Audio cannot contain talking. If you can say it, write it on a text day. Text is capped at 12 words. The constraint is the feature. TR and EN from day one (I’m in Turkey). Same task, two languages not two different prompts for the same day. I shipped the wrong version of this first and it broke the shared-gallery idea. Also happy to get roasted on the onboarding, the name (“Spark” is painfully generic — App Store listing is Spark: Prompts & People because the one-word name was taken), or the brutalist UI.
