Original Summary

Two years ago I started building TreasureQuesting because I wanted to make my own kind of digital escape rooms. I hired voice actors, worked with digital artists and spent a lot of time trying to make the stories and experiences feel special. But over time I realized that what I actually enjoyed most was building the platform behind it. There were definitely points where I doubted whether I should keep going at all. But I just kept changing it based on the feedback, adding things and actually spending a lot of time removing/simplifying things to make it easier to understand. Now I finally feel like I’ve reached a point where the product is really good. Every day people from all over the world are using it to create their own treasure hunts and scavenger hunts, which still feels a bit surreal considering where it started. So I guess this is a reminder to anyone else deep into a side project and wondering if it’s worth continuing: sometimes you don’t find the right version of the idea at the start. You find it by sticking with it long enough. submitted by /u/WaveBeatlol [link] [comments]
