Original Summary

I've been watching a lot of founders talk about this lately: Build the product → launch → start posting → wait for people to show up then later get frustrated because nobody seems to care. But I'm starting to wonder whether "we need more marketing" is actually the problem. A company can publish 50 perfectly decent articles and still have nothing that anyone outside the company has a reason to share. Compare that with: "We tested 15 tools in this category." "We analyzed 2,000 responses from our users." "We compared the 10 products our customers keep asking us about." "We found this thing nobody else seems to be talking about." Those are content assets with somewhere to go. They can get discussions from communities or references from newsletters. Also, prospects can send them to their teams, and founders can use them in sales conversations. So I'm starting to think there's a difference between c ontent that gets published and content that can actually travel. For founders who've struggled with distribution: Did you actually have a distribution problem, or did you realize later that you weren't creating things people had a reason to distribute? submitted by /u/writerDiana [link] [comments]
