Original Summary
We rebuilt our video setup twice in three years chasing the “quick and easy” options. First attempt: self-hosted. Worked fine… until we got a traffic spike and the whole thing just died. Then we switched to Wistia. Okay for smaller stuff, but once we hit 400+ lessons it was basically useless. We needed real module-level drop-off data, not just total play counts. Finally landed on Kinescope. It actually does the things that matter for us: - DRM that doesn’t need a bunch of extra dev work - Native LMS integration - Proper watch-depth analytics - Simple GDPR compliance We looked at Gumlet too, but Kinescope felt more solid on CDN reliability during launches. Anyone else been stuck in this loop like we were? What does a video tool actually need to do before you’re willing to keep it for good? submitted by /u/X3NOVEX [link] [comments]
