Hi! I'm putting together a small fan-run project for people who are interested in trying F1 commentary and getting some actual experience doing it. The idea is to have a small commentary team provide our own live voice commentary during an F1 race , which would be streamed on YouTube. We would NOT show or rebroadcast any F1 video or broadcast audio — viewers would watch the race separately on their own official broadcast while listening to our commentary. I'm mainly looking for 2 commentators : 🎙️ Lead commentator — play-by-play, reactions and bringing energy to the race 🎙️ Co-commentator/analyst — strategy, analysis and discussion You don't need previous commentary experience . In fact, part of the point of this project is to give F1 fans who are interested in commentary somewhere to practise and gain experience. Before the race, we'd organise a rehearsal/audio test so everyone can get comfortable working together. I may also try contacting someone who already does F1/motorsport commentary or watch-alongs professionally or semi-professionally and ask if they'd be willing to listen to part of our commentary and give the team some feedback. This is absolutely not guaranteed, though, and realistically it may not happen , so please don't join expecting professional feedback or mentorship. I just think it would be a cool opportunity for the team if I manage to arrange it. I'm handling the organisation/operations side of the project, and I'm hoping that if the first race goes well, we can review what worked, improve the setup and potentially do more races in the future. Important: this is an unpaid, non-commercial volunteer project. There is no salary or payment involved. The idea is simply to have fun, practise commentary, gain some experience and create something together as F1 fans.
