When I started creating Voocaly, I thought that 300 + voices would make our product better. However, the more I have thought about the actual user experience, the less I was sure about that idea. Do users really need hundreds of voices that are hard to compare and evaluate? So, I did what any self-respecting developer would have done: removed all the voices in the library that were not perfect by my standards. 300 → 115 voices. Instead of making our product win by having the broadest library, I want the voices that are useful for multiple languages, accents, tones, and use cases. Instead of adding voices to the library, I have decided to add a far more valuable function: voice cloning. Users can now either choose the available voices in the library or use ours to clone their own. Luna can analyze your script and recommend which of the existing voices in our library would suit it best. I am curious how other TTS users would answer the following questions: Are you going to prefer 115 perfectly crafted voices with voice cloning or 300 + voices without it?
